Snow Trip

On Friday, my department at work took a snow day to go tubing! It was perfect conditions for it too. The last couple of weeks we have had brought enough snow, but the day we went was sunny and clear. We left around 11:00 and drove up on a bus to the ski resort. We ate lunch on the bus and I took a little nap, too. (I love when I get paid to sleep!) Then we got up there and had lots of fun in the snow.
So funny story. It was probably my second or third run down the hill, but I was racing some of my coworkers and at the end of the hill there was a sloped bank to help us stop. It worked pretty well, but this time it created the situation where I was racing down and my coworker was trying to slow down and I totally rammed into him! My left side got it pretty good especially my head and leg, but no bruise to show for it! So lame. However, I did get a little worried that I was going to faint when my ears started ringing and my vision started to black out. I really didn't want to have another fainting incident at work! This time I remained strong and upright!

Mt. Hood is behind me and looks pretty awesome all covered in snow. However, I cannot say the same thing for snow clothes. I haven't pulled them out since leaving Utah, but I really haven't missed them. I'd rather be in a swimsuit than a beanie any day!
So basically, I have a great job that treats their employees well.

Blazer Jimmer Time

Since moving to Portland, I have learned to watch sports on TV. It isn't my favorite, but HD is pretty amazing. Anyways, that all changed Monday night when I went to my first Trailblazer game against the Sacramento Kings and more importantly Jimmer! Seeing Jimmer on the court just brought back all the good times at BYU, especially last season. I cheered for the Blazers and Jimmer, which confused a few people around us. Some people got mad, but they can get over it.
Also, I noticed that people wear anything Oregon to support the Trailblazers. Sure, that Timbers and University of Oregon uniforms are appropriate.....just keeping it weird Portland.

So Monday was also the Chinese New Year! The year of the Dragon, which only happens every sixty years. I was really hoping to find Chinese at the game, but I had to go with the BBQ. I did watch a video about the Chinese New Year and had the desire to light fireworks and eat Chinese...so does that count?

BYU Chips

My friend, Trent, gave me BYU chips since I am the biggest BYU fan he knows! So this last Saturday, we made it a party while watching the BYU game. We added cheese because everything is better with cheese!

**FYI - I would not recommend these chips. They are clearly more for looks because they tasted like way too salty cardboard.**
Bryce joked that we needed a picture with the chips, but I was quite serious about the idea!
HAHA...GO BYU!

Sleepless In Seattle

Last weekend, we went up to Seattle for some fun. We got up there Friday night and stayed with Bryce's aunt. That night we played it pretty chill and enjoyed talking to Allyson and Jen. Saturday morning, we started with a yummy waffle breakfast with bacon and freezer jam. Then got ready and headed to UDUB (University of Washington). We arrived just as the rain really started to come down. So we got pretty wet walking around and then it turned to snow. Luckily, the campus was very beautiful so we didn't let the cold and wet slow us down.
Next, we went to Ivar's for lunch. Of course, we got the fish'n'chips! It was very yummy and the weather decided to be awesome and it got all sunny! Way to go Seattle for not being constant rain!
I couldn't finish all my chips so we got to feed the seagulls. It was kind of scary though!
I have seen the movie Birds so I know what they are capable of if they decided to turn against me!
PS I am pretty impressed with my camera skills because I made that bird look awesome!
After we walked around the waterfront and enjoyed the sunshine, but it was cold. I also told Bryce we had a five photo quota we had to meet. I have become so bad at taking pictures and I was determined to change that this weekend.
We then met up with Bryce's sister and sister-in-law. We went to Pike's Place Market and had fun walking around and seeing all the different stores and random things for sale.

I happen to run into Justin Bieber and we were instant friends so took a picture together.
We then found the wall of gum. It was so gross and weird, but so fitting just the same.
After we went to Alki Beach and walked along the beach, which gave us an incredible view of the skyline. Of course, we were frozen by the end so got some hot cocoa at Starbucks to warm us up.
Plus, the first Starbucks is in Seattle so really it is a tourist attraction!
If you look closely, you will see a little statue of liberty behind us. I thought it was hilarious and had to get a picture.
Seattle Skyline

After we went and got some BBQ and Bryce's brother joined us. I was especially happy that my seat at the table let me watch the BYU and Broncos games at the same time. I mean what can be better than BBQ, BYU bball, Broncos, and being with Bryce!

Friday the 13th

So I chose to celebrate Friday the 13th because I feel it is important to celebrate the little things and it didn't disappointed. The day started out pretty regular with me waking up late and rushing to get ready and out the door for work. Then the party got started at lunch time when I went downtown to get Voodoo Doughnuts!
On the way home, it got really exciting when a biker hit my friends truck! I mean when do you see a biker telling a vehicle sorry. No one got hurt or anything it was just kind of weird.

Church Videos

In the past two days, I have watched a few Mormon Messages and really love how they deliver such a powerful message and bring the Spirit. It reminds me of the Family Home Evening videos--The Test and The Touch of the Master Hand and others--that helped me to understand the Gospel better.
